Beginning Geography
These concise units introduce all the basics of geography to
primary students. Each includes teacher resource pages, reproducible activity

1: How to Use a Map: This volume contains materials and
projects to help children become familiar with the function of maps and how to
find locations on a map or globe. The student pages use simple maps of a
classroom, school grounds, neighborhood, North America, and the United States.
There is also a treasure map exercise.
You get reproducible activity sheets, teacher resource pages and cards, plus a
two-sided, full-color pull-out poster with charming illustrations, featuring a
world map on one side and "Fairy Tale Land" map on the other. Teaching ideas for
using the two maps are provided in the unit. All 16 pages perforated for easy
removal.

2: Land Forms and Bodies of Water. This volume contains
materials and projects to help children become familiar with the various shapes
and sizes in which land forms and bodies of water appear on our planet. Included
are: islands, mountains, lakes, ponds, peninsulas, oceans, glaciers, volcanoes,
plains, and valleys. There are many opportunities to cut and paste, color, and
match items. Picture cards with simple illustrations of all land and water forms
are included. Use these for learning games, such as Concentration, Bean Bag
Toss, Read and Match, and What Is It? Also features a two-sided, full-color
pull-out poster that has labeled land and water forms on one side and a "Name
It" exercise on the other side, where students name the pictured land forms and
bodies of water.

Beginning
Geography Vol. 3: Continents and Oceans. This volume contains materials and
projects to help children become familiar with the continents and major bodies
of water on Earth. They are introduced to some facts about each continent, such
as major mountain ranges, rivers, and indigenous animal species. Other exercises
include naming the oceans and continents, and directions on a compass rose.
There are reproducible animal, continent, and question cards for use in learning
games such as Continent Concentration, Match Up, and Bean Bag Toss. Also
features two-sided, full-color pull-out poster that has a map of the world on
one side and a "Where in the world do they live?" animal quiz on the other side.
