Das Max und Moritz Buch: The Original Verse and Drawings of Wilhelm Busch with Language Notes. These short, witty rhymes, illustrated with insightful drawings that poke good-natured fun at human weaknesses, will motivate those who want to sharpen their German skills with a touch of humor. After its publication in 1858, the book was translated into many major European languages. This edition, for those English speakers learning German who want to read the book in the original, has many aids. There are vocabulary notes for each page, and one master vocabulary list. There are also language exercise pages after each chapter. This book is not as accessible for me to stock anymore since it has been reclassified as a text book. I have one left.    BTH-1974. $15.95*

German Activity Book / CD Set, Twin Sisters, ©1994, 2001. For children ages 5-12. It includes a 24-page activity book and music CD which teach over 100 words in German. The words and phrases are taught using simple rhythms. After students repeat each new word, it is incorporated into a happy, melodious song. Song titles include The Alphabet Song; Numbers to Twenty; Learning Colors; The Days of the Week; Name the Animals; The Hello Song; Let's Eat; My Family is Special; Five-Day Weather Forecast. German Dictionary for Beginners with New German Spelling by Helen Davies. EDC-2003. This handy reference for beginning German students nine years old and up contains about 2,000 everyday words and phrases which are grouped thematically and illustrated with amusing pictures and busy scenes. Although this book is now out of print, at the time I wrote this description on 1/4/2008 there were still active links to the pronunciation of the words on the internet with links provided in the book. 128 pages. Our normal office hours when we answer the phone are 10: 30 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday.
We answer email and ship at other times, but normally take Sundays off.
 You can fax your purchase orders to 805-237-8639, but it's good to follow up with a phone call in a couple of days to make sure we got it, if you did not receive a delivery confirmation email. Please include an email address with your purchase order in case we have questions and so we can send your delivery confirmation number to you.  You can also attach a signed purchase order to an email.

 We prefer you ask your questions about products and availability by e-mail (barbsbooks@sbcglobal.net), since that gives us more time to prepare a thoughtful answer and keeps us from playing phone tag. Please remember to put our email address in your address book if you have a spam filter or you won't ever get your answer unless you also leave a phone number. We cannot usually tell you immediately over the phone if a book is here. We have to walk two blocks to check the warehouse, so I usually have to call you back or email you anyway.  We do check our e-mail frequently throughout the day when we are at home. If we should be out, and you leave a message on our answering machine, we sometimes cannot hear the phone number clearly to return your call. Those are some reasons why we recommend you email us first. If you want us to call you, please leave your phone number and time zone.
When you do email us, please do not leave the subject blank or just say "Hi" or "Hello" as the subject. We delete those before opening because a lot of spam messages look like that.
