CORNERSTONES OF FREEDOM
CORNERSTONES OF FREEDOM
These books explore important events in United States history. They are designed to make children 8-12 feel they are on the scene as history is being made. This is accomplished not only by the text, which is at grade 3-4 reading level, but also by the two-color illustrations, full-color and black-and-white photos, and engravings. Keep in mind that these books are published by a secular company and will not usually point out the Christian background in the subjects they cover. Books are 32 pages long with index. $5.95 each, unless otherwise marked. Books marked less are earlier editions, possibly out of print, and supply may be limited or will be more if we reorder it. If we cant ship your order within two weeks because of this problem, well call to see what you want us to do. OP means the title is out of print. We still may have some at the price listed. SO means this is in the current catalog but we haven't ordered it yet. We might be able to get it by special order if the publisher still has it. The publisher has often run out of certain titles in their current catalog and they don't always get more back in. N/A means we don't have it anymore as a new book and probably can't get it. This information was updated on 2/12/2010
Books from the oldest series I have with copyright dates ranging from the 1960's to the 1990's. These have the older illustrations which have been replaced in some newer editions of the same titles. Date given is copyright date, not latest printing. Quantities limited to stock on hand. These are all out of print. Some of them have light cosmetic damage. Follow number links to see description details.
The Story of Lexington and Concord by R. Conrad Stein, 1983. $4.95, BTH-5427 The Story of Sherman's March to the Sea by Zachary Kent, 1987, $3.95, BTH-5428
The Story of The Women's Movement by Maureen Ash, 1989. BTH-5432, $5.36-D The Story of Women Who Shaped the West by Mary Virginia Fox, 1991. BTH-5433 ,$5.36-D Books from the "First" Series. This series name is misleading because these came after the books listed above. They are probably the first series done after that one and were published before the Second Series, which will be listed after this one. If author and publication date are not present, it means the book isn't here and the information is not in the catalog, although the title is, unless noted OP. Most of these books have an index, glossary and timeline. but a few lack the last two. Click title links for more specific details. If there is no title link, the item is a title I only special order. If link says item is no longer available, please contact me and I'll see if I can order it, since these titles are in the current catalog and should be in print. We're in the Pacific Time Zone We prefer you ask your questions about products
and availability by
e-mail, since that gives us more time to prepare a thoughtful answer and
keeps us from playing phone tag. Please remember to put our email address in
your address book if you have a spam filter or you won't ever get your answer
unless you also leave a phone number. We cannot usually tell you immediately over the phone if a
book is here. We have to walk two blocks to check the warehouse, so I usually
have to call you back or email you anyway. We do check our e-mail frequently
throughout the day when we are at home. If we should be out, and you leave a
message on our answering machine, we sometimes cannot hear the phone number
clearly to return your call. Those are some reasons why we recommend you email
us first. If you want us to call you, please leave your phone number and time
zone.
