Drawing Cats,
illustrated by Katy Bratun. Grosset and Dunlap, 2002. These delightful cats will
make cat lovers of most ages pick up their pencils. To use these books, one
should be able to read at about third grade level, since the step-by-step
drawing instructions are accompanied by written directions. This book is simple,
but not as simple as the Dover How to Draw books. Besides the basic shapes, one
also learns to draw the various coat patterns of different types of cats. At the
end of the book are 32 pages with decorated borders for drawing your own cats.
Although the book has no page numbers, I'm guessing 64, including the pages for
your own drawings. BTH-4158. $6.29-D
