Usbourne Round the World in French. Hardcover, thematic visual dictionary for children. Colorful pictures and pronunciation guide. 45 pages. Spine damaged. Was 11.95. Now only 5.99-S

German

German for Children: Designed for children 6-12, it is a solid beginning language course. It's colorful 80-page book teaches children basic language functions. Two 60-minute audio tapes feature songs along with many activities that tell children what to do in the workbook. There is also a tape that explains to parents how they can best help their children with the course. This is a good course and is much more than "listen and repeat" for elementary children but   some people might object to an illustration that shows the different parts of a house with a labeled haunted house, complete with witch on broomstick. If you can live with that, it's a very good course. Out of print. This copy has some damage to the plastic case the course comes in. there is a tear along the "spine" that is evident when you open the case, and there is a dent along the fore edge of the case, which is shaped like a book. the book and tapes are as new.  $29.95. Just Listen and Learn German: The Basic Course for Succeeding in German and Communicating with Confidence, by Passport Books. Now out of print. Adult level. Contains 239-page book and three 60-minute cassette tapes. Each lesson in this course in German conversation is begins with a dialog. This is followed by notes explaining idioms and other comments on the phrases and words used in the dialog. Then there is a vocabulary list and this is followed by some written exercises, some grammar, and some more exercises. Illustrations and photos are in black and white. This course is just right for those who want to visit Germany for business, study, or vacation. Course is new, but the book has a nick on the top edge of the cover and the plastic case that houses the course has some dents, mostly on the corners. $29.95. Now just $21.95-S

We're in the Pacific Time Zone
Our normal office hours when we answer the phone are 10: 30 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday.
We answer email and ship at other times, but normally take Sundays off.
 

We prefer you ask your questions about products and availability by e-mail, since that gives us more time to prepare a thoughtful answer and keeps us from playing phone tag. Please remember to put our email address in your address book if you have a spam filter or you won't ever get your answer unless you also leave a phone number. We cannot usually tell you immediately over the phone if a book is here. We have to walk two blocks to check the warehouse, so I usually have to call you back or email you anyway.  We do check our e-mail frequently throughout the day when we are at home. If we should be out, and you leave a message on our answering machine, we sometimes cannot hear the phone number clearly to return your call. Those are some reasons why we recommend you email us first. If you want us to call you, please leave your phone number and time zone.
When you do email us, please do not leave the subject blank or just say "Hi" or "Hello" as the subject. We delete those before opening because a lot of spam messages look like that.
