HISTORICAL FICTION

This is a skeleton for what is to come. Some of you are just wanting to know what I have because you want to check your lists. So I'm going to begin with a list, arranged alphabetically by title, of the historical fiction I carry, with author, and price and catalog # where I have been able to assign a number. Sometimes there is a fine line between biography and fiction, and there are other novels I might have put under general fiction you think should be here. My suggestion is to check here first, and if you don't find what you're looking for, call me. It will be a couple of weeks at least before I can get the general fiction list and the biography lists on.
Because of the limitations of this program, the spacing won't be uniform. But the information will be there. The annotations will come later. Meanwhile, I am going to try to use some symbols to help you know a bit more about the books.

Interest level: PB=picture book; BR=For beginning readers; C=Chapter Book
    M = Grades 3&4; J=Upper elementary/junior high. TA=Teen/adult

Period: AW=Ancient world; MA=Middle Ages; Ren=Renaissance; MW = modern world
    EAm=Early American History through Constitution; FA = Frontier Am; CW=Civil War;
    IR=Industrial Revolution; W1812= War of 1812; CA = California History
    AfAm=African American; NAm=Native American;      AsAm=Asian American;
    EI- European Immigrants; PCW=Post Civil War - Depression; WWI; WWII;
    WWII+ means anything after WWII: Korean and Vietnamese wars, etc.

X means the book is published by a Christian press.

So a book might have as many as three symbols. Example:
Daughter of the Dawn by Elizabeth Shaffer, Cat. SR-728, $8.96-D (TA, EAm, X)
This is set in Early America, is at teen/adult interest level, and is a Christian book
Some books may have two interest level designations or added subject information

If you don't find what you want here, call me at 800-925-8587. This list will probably never be complete. Also, check the serial fiction page for the American Girls, the Trailblazer Books, and other historical fiction series. Remember, PUBLISHERS CAN RAISE THEIR PRICES AT ANY TIME, and I will have to follow suit if they do. Now begins the list:

************************************************************************************************

We're in the Pacific Time Zone
Our normal office hours when we answer the phone are 10: 30 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday.
We answer email and ship at other times, but normally take Sundays off.

We prefer you ask your questions about products and availability by e-mail, since that gives us more time to prepare a thoughtful answer and keeps us from playing phone tag. Please remember to put our email address in your address book if you have a spam filter or you won't ever get your answer unless you also leave a phone number. We cannot usually tell you immediately over the phone if a book is here. We have to walk two blocks to check the warehouse, so I usually have to call you back or email you anyway.  We do check our e-mail frequently throughout the day when we are at home. If we should be out, and you leave a message on our answering machine, we sometimes cannot hear the phone number clearly to return your call. Those are some reasons why we recommend you email us first. If you want us to call you, please leave your phone number and time zone.
When you do email us, please do not leave the subject blank or just say "Hi" or "Hello" as the subject. We delete those before opening because a lot of spam messages look like that.
We have supplied a subject line in the link provided above that will guarantee your mail will be opened fast.
Or call (800)925-8587 (not before 10 AM or after 10 PM Pacific Time)
