HOW TO FIND WHAT YOU NEED ON THIS SITE
This site has been designed to make browsing by subject easy, since many
people don't know yet what they want exactly, and are looking for ideas. They should
probably start with our catalog page and skim down the page
until they find the link for the subject they want to browse. Keep in mind that the main
subject headings on the catalog pages will take you to new, unremaindered books. We
have separate sections for used books, books on sale, and bargain (remaindered
books that are new, but discounted by the publishers) books. Each of these sections has
it's own categories. If those are your primary interests, click the links given above that
will take you to their category lists.
What if I want to find out fast if you have a certain book?
Click on the
search at
the top of every page. This will take you to a page with a search box that will
give you several search options in a drop down menu. If you choose ANY WORD,
keep in mind that this is exact. If you're looking for Bloom's Taxonomy,
type in Bloom's, not Bloom or Blooms. I tried bloom
and got Literature in Bloom and nothing for Bloom's. So it pays to
be exact. FIND EXACT PHRASE is great for title searches. Enter the title words
you are sure of, such as Tom Sawyer if you are looking for The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer. This will bring up the most titles, since there
are variations on this title.
What if I have a book list and I need to find lots of individual
titles? Most book lists have lots of fiction titles. We try to support the
titles in print for Five in a Row (these are listed
together), Sonlight, and Beautiful Feet. We also have most Newberry and Caldecott award
books or will order them for you. We sell most of them at a 10% discount off the cover
prices. (See our Price
codes and discount policy). We do not carry most movie or media related titles
except in their original unabridged form. We do not carry most popular modern series
fiction titles such as the Goosebumps series and others that are similar. If you
have a list with a lot of fiction titles, we have listed most of what we carry on two easy
to reference pages: historical fiction and general fiction. Both these pages cover books for all ages
and reading levels from picture books to adult in alphabetical order by title. These pages
only contain information on title, author, catalog number, if any, and price. I have not
finished updating all the price information, nor have I added all titles yet, so if you
don't see what you need, feel free to email and ask.

What if my list has lots of nonfiction or a mixture of nonfiction
and fiction? In this case you might want to try the links on the catalog page.
Books on similar subjects such as the colonial period or physical science or nature are
listed together with descriptions and prices on the same page. Of course, if you don't
need the information about your list immediately, you could email your list to me with title and author and
publisher if you know it, and I'll check stock and availability and send you the list back
with that information and shipping costs, usually within 24 hours, except on Saturday late
afternoon and evening, since I don't work on Sundays.
The subject that interests me could be under several categories or
historical periods. How do I know where to look? This is where our
search feature comes in handy. Just type some key subject words into the box and
search. The results will show you all the pages where the words turn up, with
enough of the context for you to make some good guesses on the pages that
interest you.
The biggest thing to keep in mind while using this site is that it
contains only a fraction of what I actually have in stock and what is available. I can
order almost any book in print and have it fairly quickly, should I be out of stock. So if
you don't see the book you want, just email me. I
will try to get back to you within 48 hours, except for Saturday late afternoon and
evening and Sundays.
