Pair-It Books by Steck-Vaughn

Pair-It Books by Steck-Vaughn: Books in this series balance age-appropriate literature and reading skills by pairing theme-based fiction and nonfiction softcover books for elementary readers. The patterned and predictable language combines with photos and pictures to support the text for children who are beginning to read and improve comprehension strategies. For grades K-5. Six- packs, Audio Cassettes,  and Starter Sets are available by special order. It normally takes me about 10 business days to get them. I can also get Teacher Guides and Big Books (for a few selected titles) and Spanish titles. Please inquire. Prices normally go up at the beginning of each year. Prices below are 2010 prices and are subject to change whenever changed by the publisher. My prices are generally 10% below the publisher prices. If an item doesn't have a number below, just order by title and specify whether it is single or a six-pack. Some titles were published after I made the data base and I haven't assigned them a number yet. Titles with blue title links can be purchased on our e-commerce site when in stock. If out of stock, it will say they are unavailable. When this happens, click on contact dealer if you want me to special order it for you. I can do this as long as the publisher has it in stock.

New in 2007 -- a reproducible bilingual reading comprehension series that incorporates the text in English and Spanish of 22 of the titles below. See details of this new series which includes reading comprehension activities. These are currently available for grades 1 and 2. They complement the Pair-it Books. They don't replace them.

Another new series has come out that also incorporates the text of several Pair-it Books into four reproducible books that include comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking activities, as well as several graphic organizers. This is the Leveled Reading Series, and its books might be a helpful supplement to the Pair-it Books, even if they are not paired. There are two fiction books, one social studies themed book, and one science themed book. You can find the Leveled Reading Series for grades 2-3 here.
