Math (Yep, that's the title of the series -- short and to the point). New in 2005. Edited by Margaret Fetty. Steck-Vaughn calls this the "ultimate supplement for your classroom, but if you are willing to reproduce the pages, it should work at home as well. The series was designed to help students master key math concepts through review and practice. It supports all math curriculum programs. Each grade level book includes 15 comprehensive lessons that reinforce the basics and provide creative and varied approaches to practicing the skills.
Each book begins with a chart correlating the material in the book with the NCTM standards. Teachers get more help from the teacher background information supplied at the beginning of each lesson. This two-page introduction provides the standards-based objectives, the materials needed for the lesson, and a description of the activities in the lesson. Reteaching and extension activities are also included. Answers are embedded in the teacher information pages before each lesson for easy access while teaching.
Here's what's in the lessons themselves: a manipulative component to introduce the concept; practice pages; an extension activity; some word problems; and an enrichment page. There are also connections to on-line resources. Each book is 128 pages. Student worksheets are reproducible. Here are the titles:

Statistics
and Probability.
These books take advantage of children's natural tendency to observe, question,
manipulate, organize, and communicate information as they go about trying to
understand how they are related to the world around them. These qualities make
older elementary students ready to be introduced to the study of statistics and
probability, and this discipline enhances the development of their problem
solving skills as they interpret data and use information to predict activities
and outcomes. Meet NCTM standards. Reproducible for classroom use. 96 perforated
pages with bound in answers. Available for the following grades:
Statistics and Probability, Grades 3-4. BTH-2251. $10.79-D

This math program is designed to boost test scores and teach
problem-solving skills. It doesn't just give answers to test questions, but teaches
math thinking and problem-attack strategies through its innovative Problem Solving Plan.
It also offers practice in the higher-order thinking skills students need to solve
open-ended math problems successfully. The problems deal with real-life scenarios. Follows
NCTM standards and meets a number of SCANS competencies. Answer keys are separate from
book. 48 pages. Student editions are $10.93-D. Answer keys are $2.88-D.
