English Series: Each
of these books begins with a diagnostic test of the skills that will be taught in the
book. Then it teaches the basic information needed for the student to learn the topic the
book centers on. Each lesson covers a small chunk of information and is from one to five
pages long. Longer lessons are divided into small sections. The teaching part covers about
half a page. Then there are exercises for the student to practice what he has learned to
see if he understands it.At the end of the book there is a final test to see how well the
student has learned the concepts. Answers to all exercises and tests are in the back and
can be easily removed from the book. The series is called Straight Forward because there's
no fluff. Pages contain all content with no "distracting or unrelated pictures."
(publisher's words). There is still plenty of white space on each page, though, so that the
material is easy to read and does not overwhelm a student. The books in the beginning
series are 3.56-D each and are about 34 pages long. Books in the advanced series are
8.96-D and are about 70 pages long. Students of sixth grade and up can begin their work in
the advanced series.
