fields of transportation, communication, shelter, food preservation, and clothing up
though the time of publication. About 2-4th grade reading level. 6.50 (B)

Bibliography. Written for laymen, this book is sure to fascinate those who are

Congress, 1979 Edition. Workbook size. 192 pages. Reading this book is like
taking a guided tour of our nation's Capitol Building. I know because I took it. Cover is
well-worn, inside is in pretty good condition. 2.50 (B)
The F.B.I. by Quentin Reynolds. Random House,
1954. Landmark Books #46. Forward by J. Edgar Hoover. Tells the history of the
F.B. I up to its publication date and explains how its people were trained. It
also shares the details of some of the F.B.I.'s most exciting cases and how they
were solved. 181 pages including index. Condition: Reading copy. Green
cloth-covered boards have wrinkled front and lightly worn corners and edges.
Hinge is cracked between front end papers. Previous owner stamp on front free
end paper. Other than that, pages are clean. BT-1915. $4.95-U
The
Living Textbook: Using the Newspaper in the Classroom: Resources, Projects, and

This guide for teachers uses the newspaper as a springboard for hundreds of

science. There are dozens of activities for each of these subjects. The
activities are divided into three levels: Level One is for the elementary
grades, Level Two for middle school grades, and Level Three is for the high
school grades. You may discover some activities that are appropriate for more

use. But some involve individual research followed by a group discussion or

wishes to examine and record its own history. Blackline
masters of charts and data sheets may be reproduced for classroom use. Overall,
very good condition: Light wear to edges and corners of paper cover. Stapled
wraps have small streaks of missing surface color near stapled edge on front.
Text is clean and interspersed with black and white illustrations. 116 pages.

first printing thus. Very large format -- 10.5" x 14." This is an original
global overview of the most recent (up to publication date) archaeological
discoveries and conclusions, with special emphasis on the everyday life and
customs of vanished civilizations. Beginning with Paleolithic human cultures the
entries are organized chronologically and geographically up to the Renaissance.
You will find in-depth coverage of more than 180 topics, divided into these
geographical regions: The Western World, Islam and the Arab World, The Near
East, Ancient Egypt, The Scythians and the Steppes, Central Asia, South East
